ABOUT US
The Portage Boys Hoops Club (PBHC) was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in March 2015 with the general mission of supporting Portage youth involved in basketball, as well as being active in the Portage community.

That mission belief took a huge step to becoming a reality in the spring of 2016, as the PBHC signed an agreement with the City of Portage to assist with the improvement of the basketball court facility at Collipp-Worden Park. In doing so, the PBHC committed to fundraising $10,000 towards the project valued at approximately $25,000. The project improvement includes widening of the playing surface area to increase court sizes, seal coating the court surfaces, and painting the two courts with an orange, black and gray color scheme. The upgrades were completed in the fall 2016.

Most recently, the Portage Boys Hoops Club has organized a youth basketball program, for Portage youth boys, grades 3 through 8. The program tipped-off in the winter of 2016, with the long term goal of being able to assist Portage youth financially to play organized basketball, while providing a positive environment for individual skill development, competitive team play, and encouraging the development of fundamentals, teamwork, communication, commitment, and sportsmanship. The youth basketball program had a lot of great success in its first year and in 2018 was expanded to include grades K through 2. We are proud to be able to provide youth from grades K-12 with a positive basketball experience.
